Breast Lift

A breast lift is a procedure to elevate or lift sagging breasts resulting in a more youthful breast contour.
Expected results.
The results of a breast lift are an elevated and fuller breast contour and an areola that is a desired size and correct height on the breast.
Will it hurt?
The procedure is done under general anesthesia. Pain is minimal.
Will it leave a scar?

There will be scarring around the areola, and in a vertical line from the areola to the crease below the breast. Scars flatten and fade with time. In some patients there is also a scar in the breast fold.
Will I have to take time off of work or from my normal daily routine?
The patient wears a supportive bra for 6 weeks and light activities may be resumed in 7-10 days.
Are there any risks?
Asymmetry – Breasts are typically not perfectly symmetrical before this procedure, and may not be after the procedure
Loss of Sensation- This is uncommon, but partial or complete loss of sensation to areas of breast skin or nipple can occur. This usually improves with time.
Sagging may reoccur over time.
How is it done?
Excess skin is excised. The areola is repositioned higher and the size of the areola is reduced. The breast is reshaped into a more desirable contour.
