Will it Hurt?
This procedure is performed under a general anesthetic pain is minimal.
Will it Leave a Scar?
Scars are very small and placed in the breast fold or around the areola. Scars are not noticeable once they’ve healed.
Will I have to take time off of work or from my normal daily routine?
Work or normal activities can be resumed in 1 week. Bruising and swelling subsides in 2 weeks, and the patient wears a compression garment covering the treated areas for 6 weeks. The garment helps reduce swelling.
Are there any risks?
Fluid Collection – This rarely occurs if a large collection of fluid forms then this may require some drainage.
Asymmetry – Often the two sides are not perfectly symmetrical before surgery. Great care is taken to make the sides as symmetrical as possible.
How is it done?
Small suction tubes are inserted into a very small incision located in the breast fold. Excess fat is removed with suction. It is sometimes necessary to remove breast tissue through an incision around the lower half of the areola perimeter. |
